MacDONALD, Donald Joseph - Don peacefully passed away in Langley, BC on September 30, 2021. He is now in his forever home with Jesus.

Don was born on November 17, 1943 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, growing up on a large dairy farm with 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Don served in The Royal Canadian Navy out of Halifax, Nova Scotia for 5 years. In the Navy he travelled to many places around the world.

He then moved to Calgary in 1975, where he worked as an electrician before becoming a realtor, eventually moving to BC in 1988, making his home in Langley for the last 29 years.

Don never wasted a day of his life wishing for things, instead he worked for and accomplished all of his goals, enjoyed his time exploring the world with his wife and family, attending car races, golfing, spending time with his daughters, grandchildren, and family in Calgary and Nova Scotia. Don loved his career as a commercial realtor and worked as a partner with his wife Angie. He was a well known member of the Real Estate community where he served his clients with the utmost respect, giving him a very rewarding and fulfilling career. He treated his team and clients like family. He was actively working with NAI Commercial (Langley) Ltd. before he peacefully passed away. He drove his red corvette with pride, and was a member of the Langley Corvette Club.

Don lived a joyful and fulfilling life, was a gentle spirit, and you could always count on him to crack a joke, give you advice, or help you through any of life’s challenges. Don believed that “What goes around, comes around” - in other words “You reap what you sow”.

Don is survived by his wife Angelika (Angie) of 34 years and their two daughters, Katrina (Nico), Jessica (Cole), his former wife Ann and their two daughters, Cherie and Wendi (Brian), his grandchildren Darcy, Josie, Elizabeth and Taylor and his newest granddaughter-to-be due in January, siblings Alan (Sandy), Diane (Dave), Betty, Doug (Joan), Shaun (Jackie), sister in law Jane, Parent in-laws Erich and Anneliese, brother in-law Erich (Jenny), as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, great nieces and nephews. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Jessie MacDonald, his sister Rose, and his brothers Earl (Elaine), Archie (Francis) and Claude.

A special thank you is extended to the Langley Hospice, and all of the nurses and doctors that helped make Don’s last few weeks comfortable. We are eternally grateful for your love and devotion to caring for Don.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for close friends and family. In lieu of flowers we ask that you please support the Langley Food Bank, Union Gospel Mission and Langley Hospice Society or a charity of your choice.
