In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MOUSSEAU, Douglas Leo - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, Douglas Leo Mousseau, C.D. on August 12, 2021. Born in Iroquois Falls to Joseph and Maria on September 25, 1931, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and came to Halifax where he met and married Kathleen O’Brien. Posted in various locations across the Maritimes they started their family and eventually settled in Bedford. After leaving the Navy Doug went to work for the Department of Labour until his retirement. Doug enjoyed hunting and fishing and with added leisure time, developed an interest in woodworking and painting. In the words of his grandson Michael, “He wasn’t a man of many words, but he was always alongside my grandmother to show love and support for everything myself or my cousins did”. Predeceased by Kathleen (October 3, 2020). Doug is survived by his children, Dale (Donna), Brian (Joanne), Doug (Jackie), Nicolle (Raymond). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Sheldon, Lexi, Michael, Shili, Tia, Devan, Ava, Ethan; and his beloved cat Bella. As per his wishes, Doug was cremated and will be buried at sea. Donations can be made to Diabetes Canada. (Saltwire Network 02 Sep 2021)
