In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
BEAUDRY, Florent Joseph Achilles (Larry) - On October 30, 2021, our dear husband, father, and Gpa passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side. Larry leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Lorna; his children, Allan (Linda), Tim, Lisa (Rick), and daughter-in-law Pat. His grandchildren, Krista, Heather, Justine, Megan, Alex, AJ, Caitlin, Jarrett, Zac, Liam, Carly, Riley, and Tayler. His great-grandchildren, Chayce, Lucas, Joseph, Conor, Freya, and Rowan. Larry was predeceased by his sons, Terry and Don; daughter-in-law Sharon; parents, Emma and Ulric; and brother Ubald. In his earlier years, Larry served a two-year stint in the Navy, spent time in the North and on the Prairies as a radio operator before starting his career, in 1954, in air traffic control. He retired in 1980 at the age of 56 and never looked back. He planted his roots in Winnipeg, and when asked by his grandchildren why Winnipeg?... he said "there is no place where the sun shines on you like Winnipeg". In 1952, he married the woman of his dreams and together they raised their family. Like a true Frenchman he walked, talked and ate fast, but enjoyed every second. His roots are strong and will continue to grow and prosper. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do something nice for someone else, unexpectedly and without explanation. The service will be Friday, November 5, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. All in attendance will be asked to show proof of vaccination. We love you, you are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
