RHODES, Reginald Arthur (Reggie) - (WWII Veteran Serving with the Royal Canadian Navy in the North Atlantic, 39 year Employee of C.G.E., Retired Lieutenant of the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment-Cadet Corps C.D., Past President of the Peterborough Naval Association). Reg left his beloved family on October 27, 2011 at Lakefield Extendicare at the age of 86. Dearest husband of Bea (Elliott) for 65 years. Loving father of Rev. Dr. Susanne Vander Lugt (Harry) of Toronto, Virginia Casey (Jim) of Hamilton, his three sons Leith (Rilla), Kim (Mary), Craig (Georgia) all of Peterborough. Grandpa to Kiera (Nick), Kristine Kraemer (Dennis), Kimberly Doran( Mike), Dustin, Shauna and Brandon Rhodes and step grandchildren William and Elaine Hall. Proud Great Grandfather of Clara, Sachin and Annette. Dear brother of Glen of Stouffville, and the late Nonnie, Lorraine, Bonnie, Bernard and Gene. Brother in law of Yvonne "Pete" of Lindsay, Joan Bunker, Bev Elliott and James Elliott. Reg was a charter member of Northminster United Church and was involved with cubs and scouts and a coach with church hockey. Reg loved canoeing, fishing, and sailing on his beloved Catchacoma Lake. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Northminster United Church, 300 Sunset Blvd., Peterborough on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. with reception to follow. If desired, condolences to the family, directions to the church and donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Peterborough, Northminster United Church Memorial Fund, Hospice Peterborough or the Charity of your Choice.
