FELTON, Kenneth George (Ken) - was born in Layton, England, on the 14th of February, 1936, to George and Vera Felton. Growing tired of school, he joined the Royal Navy at age 15, and trained to become an engineer. A photographic memory and a keen eye for detail allowed him to move up, and after a decade of serving England, he transferred to the Canadian Navy, where he met his first wife, Charlotte Born. Upon receiving an Honorable Discharge from the RCN, he used his skills to find work in New Zealand, South Africa and the United States. His ever-growing list of certifications meant that he was never unemployed, a fact he often reminded his family. Charlotte sadly passed away after 20 years of marriage, and Ken went on to marry Flora Scott, and settled down on the West Coast of Canada, where they raised 3 children, all boys, named James, Richard and David. A love of golf occupied his weekends, and several tournaments ended up with him taking home first place. Upon retirement, Ken caught up on his reading, sailing, and Jeopardy. He never missed an episode. Ken passed away September 14, 2021. He leaves behind the mother of his children, 3 sons, and one sister, Wendy McLean. He is now undoubtedly enjoying his leisure time, which is most deserved. (Victoria Times Colonist 02 Oct 2021)
