Died: 09 Jun 1991, Sherbrooke, Nova Scotia

 

HINES, Walter Gordon - 77, Lower MacKarracher Nursing Home, Sherbrooke, formerly of Country Harbour, Guysborough County, died Sunday in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.

 

Born in Fishermans Harbour, Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Robert and Minnie (Jack) Hines.

 

He was a retired automobile salesman. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy overseas during the Second World War and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

 

He is survived by five sons, Clancy, Walter, Delbert, Bruce, all of Brantford, Ont.; Gordon, Country Harbour; five daughters, Verna (Mrs. John Styger); Maisie (Mrs. Clinton Phinney) both of Country Harbour; Cecilia (Mrs. Graham Kirk) Glenelg, Guysborough County; Lorraine (Mrs. Robert Cunningham); Ethel (Mrs. Scott MacDonald) both of East River, Guysborough County; Three brothers, Benjamin, Orville, New Glasgow; Gerald, Prince Edward Island; five step-sisters; 34 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren.

 

He was predeceased by a grandson, Stanley Hines; and a granddaughter, Lisa Cunningham.

 

The body is in Giffins' Funeral Home, Country Harbour, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, and from where funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Stanley Worth officiating. Burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
