FJELLGAARD, Allan Martin - We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Allan Martin Fjellgaard on August 20th, 2021. Allan was born May 14th, 1935 in Ponass Lake (Rose Valley) Saskatchewan. Allan was predeceased by his parents, Eivind and Ella Fjellgaard/Stephen (nee Rustad), Step-father Jack Stephen, sisters Elaine Anderson, Neila Dyck and niece Sheryl. Allan is survived by his loving wife Pauline, children Debbie, Donna Nelson (Don), Gary (Kathy), Deanna (Richard), Darlene; brother Gary Fjellgaard (Lynne), sister Evelyn Stephen and twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews near and far. Allan, grew up in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan and at age of 15 he moved to Prince George. He enlisted in the Canadian Navy at the age of 17. A highlight in his life was attending the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. He travelled in the Regatta on the Canadian ship that sailed throughout the Commonwealth and served as an Orderly for Prince Phillip (Duke of Edinburgh). Allan married the love of his life Pauline in Prince George, and settled west of town where they raised a large family. Allan was an automobile repairman for many years until he returned to work with his son in the logging business. Allan was an avid hockey fan and coached many years for Prince George Minor Hockey Association. A strong patriarch of the family, Allan was humble when it came to his own accomplishments but would beam with pride telling stories of his children, and grandchildren or cheering them on from the sidelines in their chosen profession or sport. Allan was also very proud of his three sisters but especially of the incredible talent of his baby brother being a singer songwriter. He fondly remembered singing with his brother Gary and eldest sister Elaine in Norway. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Prince George Rotary Hospice House. A celebration of life will be planned when it is safe for family and friends to gather in Prince George. Until then, please remember him in his favourite spot on the veranda enjoying a cup of coffee with family and friends. (The Prince George Citizen 31 Aug 20210
