BARNES, Edward Eric (Eddie) - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Edward “Eddie” Eric Barnes which occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, July 15th, 2021. Born 1959, in St. John’s, NL, he is the son of Edward F. and Geraldine (Fowler) Barnes. In his earlier years, Eddie served in the Navy. He was an Electrical Engineer and worked for DPL for many years before becoming Owner & Operator of EB Engineered Panels and Controls. Eddie worked hard and played hard. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and vacationing with family.
Along with his parents, Eddie is survived by his loving and devoted spouse of 16 years Duska Lloyd; step-children Becky Mason (Joseph) of Saint John, Tania Clark (Barry) of Saint John, Brian Lloyd (Michelle) of Lepreau; brother Richard Barnes (Stephanie) of Wirral, NB; sisters Michelle Harnish (the late Derrick) of Lower Sackville, NS, Dianne “Sissy” Barnes (Bruce) of Nova Scotia; step-grandchildren Aiden, Gavin, Addison, Bryan, Dominic S, Dominic B, Meredith, Lucus and Rhylan; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Tuesday, July 20th from 11 to 1 p.m. A Memorial Service with follow in the chapel beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Eddie may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
