CLARK, George Weldon Thomson - The death of George Weldon Thomson Clark, husband of Eleanor (Howland) Clark, of Saint John, NB, occurred on Friday, May 6, 2005 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Dipper Harbour, NB a son of the late Edwin Thomas S. and Lillian S. (Sweet) Clark, George had lived most of his adult life in Saint John, where he was employed with the Marcus Co. Ltd. Furniture Store on King Street as a Department Manager for twenty-eight years and the Clear View Furnishings Furniture Store, Rothesay Ave. for fourteen years. Mr. Clark was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Royal Canadian Navy for four years. Several of these years he was engaged in top secret work in the supplying of equipment and armaments on new ships commissioned for service in the Royal Navy and the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a member of Hibernia Lodge # 3 F & A.M.; a charter member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 69. Mr. Clark was a member of the United Baptist Church in Dipper Harbour. Besides his wife, he is survived by one brother, Wilfred Arthur Clark of Saint John and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. By George's request there will not be any visitation. Following cremation a memorial service will be held in Dipper Harbour Baptist Church at a time to be announced. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
