CORDER, E. James (Jim) - December 16, 1933 - July 20, 2021 We are very saddened to announce the passing of Jim Corder. Dad passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his 3 sons: Bob (Sher), Ken (Kathy) & Don (Rhonda); 9 grandchildren whom he cherished: Robyn, Dan, Kirk, Heather, Sarah, Meaghan, Michael, Tommie, Shailyn; as well as his 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Bob (Donna), Doug (Elaine); sisters, Mary & Dorothy; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings: Ernie, Barb, Don, Gladys & Gayle. Jim was a devoted father and inspiration to his three sons. He was most proud of his family and took great pride in his 37-year Naval career. During his career, Jim was a leader in combat systems as well as the ships dive team. He was an Officer and a gentleman who was loved by the many lives he touched. To many, Jim was known as "Coach" which is a result of his love of coaching minor baseball and fastball, which included two Provincial Championship seasons. He was very active throughout his life running marathons, playing baseball, hockey, and golfing. The family would like to thank the Staff at the Nanaimo Seniors Village, NRGH and Palliative Care Unit for their amazing care. Dad will be missed by his family and many friends. RIP Dad. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If you would like to make a donation in Jim's name please donate to the SPCA - Dad loved all critters.
