In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
PREST, Lawrence Spencer Merlin - Age 62, of Hatchet Lake, passed away suddenly at home from an undiagnosed heart condition, on April 10th, 2021. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Colin & Una (Myers) Prest. Lawrence spent his early years in the Canadian Navy and Coast Guard. In his retirement he enjoyed tending his plants, old reruns, a good smoke, coffee and the company of his friends. He especially enjoyed his time spent chatting with his American friend Buster who he visited in California. He is survived by his sons Alex & Mason; granddaughter Adelyn; sister Angelia (Denis); nieces & nephews Chelsea (Kyle) Bitar, Sean DeCarufel (Kayla), Nicole (Mike) Hampson, Amira Bitar, Ari & Boden Hampson. The family would like to thank the wonderful care provided by Dr. Harris Crooks and the staff of the Medical Center. A private ceremony will take place at a later date in Oyster Pond. In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to SPCA or Bide a While.
