Obituary:Monday, December 11, 1978 Halifax Chronicle Herald Page 22 Ronald P. Ewing SIMM'S SETTLEMENT - Ronald Parker Ewing, 67, of Simm's Settlement, died Friday in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Woodside, Dartmouth, he was a son of the late James and Margaret Ewing. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the RCNVR as a chief petty officer. He was employed with the Halifax Dockyard for 21 years. He was a former member of the Hubbards District Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, the former Vera Stone; 10 sons, Arthur, and Robert, both of Halifax; Walter, Massachusetts; Ronald Joseph, Hubbards; Donald Simm's Settlement; David, New Waterford; Gordon, Timberlea; Douglas, Toronto; Stephen and Hilliard, both at home; five daughters, Betty (Mrs. Arthur Boutilier), Dartmouth; Margaret (Mrs. James Hanrahan), Yarmouth; Jean (Mrs. Wilfred Morash), Grace and Lorraine (Mrs. William Chase), all of Simm's Settlement; a sister Margaret (Mrs. Hilliard Banfield), Halifax; 42 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The body is at Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hubbards, Rev. Reginald MacDonald officiating, assisted by Rev. James Pike.
