In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
WHITTEN, Edward Daniel - is survived by his wife Julie (Yoonho), sister Marguerite, Oshelen, sister in law Bonnie and 6 more. 70 nieces and nephews and two great great nieces and nephews. He was born in Orangeville Ontario and he served in World War 2 for two years working in the engine rooms of HMCS BOWMANVILLE and ARNPRIOR. Ed was also an automobile mechanic for 30 years and also a Customs Office for 21 years. Ed always enjoyed helping people and he always put his family and friends first. He was a role model for many, he read the Bible and prayed for others. We will surely miss Ed, he will always be in our hearts. See you soon Ed, we love you.
The following was submitted by Colin Mcdouall - When Ed retired Senior Management in Vancouver did some checks on Ed’s WW II service. While speaking of Ed’s career they announced that Ed was the last WW II navel veteran to retire from Canada’s civil service. Ed was one of those Customs Officers that just had a knack too find large amounts of drugs in his career.
