MITCHELL, Charles Andrew - 85, Lake Charlotte, Halifax County, died November 6, 1992 in Camp Hill Medical Centre. He was a son of the late Charles N. and Ethel (Williams) Mitchell. He was a veteran of the Second World War. He served in the Merchant Navy and began active service with the Royal Canadian Navy in 1940-1945, spending some time overseas. He was a commissionaire and later a county constable until retirement. He is survived by five daughters, Eva (Mrs. Keith Webber), Catherine Beaver, both of Dartmouth; Theresa (Mrs. Bud Farris), Oakville, Ont.; Evelyn, at home; Joan (Mrs. David Potter), Bear River, Annapolis County; son, Barry, Saint John, N.B.; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence, Porters Lake; James, Jeddore Oyster Ponds, Halifax County;; two sisters, Florence Day, Nora (Mrs. Gordon Purcell), both of Halifax. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Miriam Laura Drake; daughter, Nora Marie; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, George, Lyall; two sisters, Lillian Conrad, Theresa Sim. The body is in Rowlings Funeral Home, Musquodoboit Harbour, visiting 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral will be 2.30 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's Anglican Church, Jeddore Oyster Ponds, Rev. C. Baxter officiating.
