In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
NIOBE WRITER ALIVE - The report that William Browne, Warrant Writer on board the NIOBE was killed in the disaster last Thursday, was incorrect. Mr. Browne, was at work in the Dock Yard, and though he received several injuries is still alive, but unfortunately he was called upon to mourn the death of his wife Sarah Rose Browne, who was killed at her home 58 Union Street. She was a native of Isle of Wight, England, and had been in Halifax for three years. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon to Fairview Cemetery.
