In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
SAWA, Douglas L. (Doug), Reverend - Passed away on January 29, 2021 in Guelph, ON. In life, Doug chose to show more concern for the needs of his family, his patients and for his communities than he did for himself. In his passing, we show our appreciation for his many achievements and for what he gave us. Doug was a husband, a father, a brother, a grandfather and a great-grandfather. He was a servant and he was a leader. He was an athlete and a sailor in the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a dentist, a public health advocate, an educator and a deacon. Doug was strong. He is survived by his extraordinary wife, Rita. He is survived by Blair and Sandra, Jim and Nina, Paul and Andrea, Ted and Michele, and Michelle and John. By Taylor, Simon, Jessica, Aidan, Luke, Isaac, Haley, Roman, and now Thia. When Jesus opens the Life Book in heaven, he will turn to Doug and say this one I know. (The Globe and Mail 30 Jan 2021)
