George was a pillar in the Cambridge sports community. He was involved in Minor Hockey, Ringette and Baseball as coach and umpire. He also was involved in the start-up of Cambridge Minor Football. He sponsored many youths who could not afford to play sports and volunteered may hours coaching, refereeing, or driving to games and tournaments. In the past 14 years he travelled each year to Ben Hoi Vietnam where he met his loving wife, Ngoc Ly, and added to his family 5 stepchildren and 4 grandchildren. He loved the Vietnamese culture and made many new friends. In retirement he loved to drive around in his Model A car and was proud to drive in the Hespeler Christmas Parades, with his last one being in 2019 that he shared with his grandchildren. A sport enthusiast, he thoroughly enjoyed watching his games on TV and reading the newspaper. He will be missed terribly and remembered fondly with love.
