In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
WAIDE, John M. - Served on HMCS TIMMINS during the Second World War, joining her in Esquimalt and served in her till the end of the war. He did not speak much of the war but was proud of serving on that ship from beginning to end. A Windsor, Ontario native, he returned to Ontario after the war and settled in Stratford, Ontario. He was a boiler inspector for Cooper Bessemer and made weekly day trips to the Bruce Nuclear Plant when it was being built to inspect it. He retired late seventies and passed away in the early 80's - possibly 1981 or 1982. He had a single sister in Windsor. He and his wife Isabel had no kids. Isabel passed away around 1986.
