In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
CHIASSON, Alfred Joseph - Age 82 of Shubenacadie, formerly of Lantz, passed away November 19, 2020 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Rogersville, N.B., he was a son of the late Joseph and Ernestine (Gallant) Chiasson. Alfred served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 29 years and the Federal Public Service for 12 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 48 in Elmsdale. He was very creative and would often build things he required. He was a tinkerer and loved working in his garage and was very meticulous. Alfred was very kind, always with a smile and willing to lend a helping hand. He will be missed by daughters, Monique (Daryl) Masterson, British Columbia; Michelle (Trevor) Langille, Shubenacadie; grandchildren, Amy Masterson, Ashley Chiasson and Morgan Langille; great-granddaughter, Cali Harris; brothers, Guy and Paul; sisters, Maria (Raymond) Coutre, Jeannette Chiasson, Diane (Bernie) Matte and Mariette (Wayne) Mullins; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn; brothers, Patrick and Andrew. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, a funeral service will be held at a later date - when friends and family can gather more safely. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
