BARNES, John Albert - We sadly announce the passing of John after 2 years at the Kinsmen Lodge. Predeceased by parents and 4 siblings, survived by his wife of 65 years Patricia, son Roger (Laura), grandchildren Spencer (Katrina) and Natalie (Bruce) Fitz-Earle; great grand children Kaia and Sana. Born in Banff, childhood in Ryley and Edmonton, Alta, and as a teen worked the gold mines in Yellowknife. Served in the Can. Navy and Merchant Marine during the war. 1947, met Patty in California, married in Crescent City and returned to Edmonton. John a builder at heart and in Regina, Sask. built a large sub-division with Patricia Park and Patricia Ave. Love of the sea, had John moving to BC, where he spent 10 years building his 44' Tri, "Morgen". Special thanks must go to the Kinsmen Lodge staff, especially in Holland Park for all their loving care. John was cremated and will eventually go to sea again. Till we meet again, My Love.
