Son of the late Clare and Alrene Trott; Jim was the 5th generation of the Trott family in Collingwood. The family roots began here in 1862, with the start of a successful furniture business; providing furnishings to ships that were built in Collingwood and across Canada. The family was also the original owners of what is now Fawcett Funeral Home. Jim continued what family before him had started; he was involved with the BIA, working on the downtown revitalization project, Minor Hockey, Sports Hall of Fame, the Collingwood Museum and many other programs and groups, his dedication to community was part of who he was, he was proud of his family history and the connection to a town they so loved. A memorial service to celebrate and honour Jim will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday November 14, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers donations to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
