In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
STUBBS, Herman S. - at his residence, Westmount, on Saturday, June 4, 1977, dearly beloved husband of Patricia blackwell, and dear father of Paul, Terry, and Deegan, and father-in-law of Faye and Mary, loving grandfather of Rory, also survived by his mother Mrs. Winnifred Stubbs and one sister Mrs. Mary Wilson. A private service was held on Monday, June 6, from Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Chapel.
Herman (Stubby) Stubbs served in the RCNVR from 21 Aug 1941 to 1945. He served in HMCS PRINCE RUPERT for several years. After VE Day he signed on for the Pacific theatre. While in Montreal on leave he met his future bride before leaving for Esquimalt, BC. Before he could be deployed Japan surrendered and he and his shipmates were spared more fighting. After returning to Montreal he married. He worked for several places, including in the excise department of Seagram's Distillery, celebrating 25-years with them the year prior to his death.
