HOLLETT, David - It is with great sadness that the family of David Selwyn Hollett, 72, formerly of Broad Cove, NL, announce his passing on September 10, 2020, at home in New Glasgow, NS. David was born in Broad Cove, Placentia Bay, NL on July 19, 1948. His parents were Timothy and Mary (Williams) Hollett, of Isle au Valen. He married Jessie Maude (Lockyer) on November 20, 1971, and had three children, Winston Ross, Nancy Mary and Bernice Sylvia. He started in the Navy in 1966 until 1970 when he continued on ships around Newfoundland with Marine Atlantic, finishing his career with Imperial Oil. David loved spending his time building model boats, hooking mats, drawing and building, as he was a carpenter’s son. He is survived by his wife, Jessie (Lockyer) Hollett; son, Winston (Lisa); daughters, Nancy (Hollett) MacNeil (Jim); Bernice Hollett; grandkids, Sarah, Samantha, Emily and Timothy. Also left to mourn is his brother, Phillip Hollett (Ada). He was predeceased by parents, Timothy Hollett (1974) and Mary (Williams) Hollett (1986); brothers and sisters, Samuel Hollett (1994); Ernest Hollett, Walter Hollett and Marina (Hollett) Peddle (1988); Sylvia Hollett (2007); father and mother-in-law, Edgar and Myrtle Lockyer, of Isle Valen. David will be brought home to Newfoundland by his family. A graveside service will take place at 2pm, Friday, September 18, 2020, at the Arnold’s Cove Interfaith Cemetery.
