In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
SHEPHERD, Holland Hastings - May 19, 1912 - April 10, 2007, passed away peacefully in Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre in Ottawa, Ont. He was predeceased by wife, Alice (Roache), in 1995, and he is survived by daughter, Elizabeth, her husband Garry Logue and their children Samantha Weston, Adam Weston and Joelle Mackenzie; stepson, Brian Cox, his wife Joan and their children Brian Cox and Michael Cox, and three great-grandchildren. Born in Mimico in 1912, he joined the navy in 1929 and worked for the Department of National Defence for almost 49 years: RCN, NRE, DRB Wash. DC and HQ, CRAD. He was an avid HAM radio fan: VE1RR, VE3EZY, VE3DV. He lived in Halifax for 32 of his almost 95 years. He is interred in National Military Cemetery in Ottawa. (Halifax Chronicle-Herald 17 Apr 2007)
