LEMIEUX, Joseph Emeric (Luc) - (04 February 1950 - 07 September 2020) Age 70 years of Mineville. It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and brother Luc. He is survived by his wife Judy Hamilton, daughter Amy Lemieux, step children Ryan Hamilton (Karyn) and Sarah Martin(Gary) and step granddaughters Kaeleigh, Emma and Sam; brother Michel (France), Yves (Marian), and sisters Claire and Anne (Yves) as well as 5 nephews, 2 nieces, 1 great niece and 2 great nephews. Luc was born in Lauzon, Quebec and spent the majority of his younger years growing up in Laval, Quebec. Luc was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy serving from 1967-1995 retiring with the rank CPO 2 and was stationed in Halifax, Nova Scotia for the bulk of his career. After retirement you could find Luc volunteering as a driver with the Red Cross, as well as with the Province of Nova Scotia assisting community members with the process of filing taxes. By night, you could find Luc on the dance floor at Brewsters or the Rodeo, jiving to his hearts content and later taking on the role of teaching beginner jive dancing. A lunch regular at Smitty's on Main St, Dartmouth he charmed and teased all of the staff. Although he was a man of few words, he made those words count, usually with a quick witted barb followed by a hearty laugh and his signature ear to ear grin. In accordance with Covid 19 protocols a private service for family and invited guests will be held September 22, 2020 with live streaming available beginning at 10:55am (AST). In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Luc's name to the Canadian Diabetes Association or by planting a tree in his memory in a Canadian conservation area of your choice.
