George W. Reidy

Died: 30 May 2006, Calgary, Alberta

 

REIDY, George W. - beloved husband of Muriel Reidy of Calgary, passed away at the Beverly Centre on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the age of 80 years. George was born on November 20, 1925 in Red Deer, AB, where he was raised and resided until 1967 when he and his family moved to Calgary. He enjoyed and coached baseball, hockey, skiing, and golf. George had numerous passions and interests - he served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II, was a Kinsman, a Mason, and an active Rotarian for many years. Besides his loving wife Muriel, George is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Trevor and Renne, and Terry and Sandy; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Blair; ten grandchildren and their spouses and significant others, Brad, Todd, Tyler, Shauna, Lorelei, Scott, Cristin, Ryan, Andrea, and Tara; and great-grandson Liam. He is also survived by his stepson, Duane Sharman, and his children, Allan, Kenneth and Danielle; stepdaughter, Kathy and Ken McLellan, and their children, Tyler and Amanda. George was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy, in 1998; and great-grandson Dailyn in 2000. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew's United Church (924 Heritage Drive S.W.) today, June 2, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Rod Sykes, Presider.
