MILLS, Robert Charles (Bob) - It is with deep sadness that the family announces Robert Charles "Bob" Mills' passing on Thursday, August 13, 2020 in the Veterans Unit of Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in St. Stephen, N.B. on April 5, 1927 to the late Fred and Amanda It is with deep sadness that the family announces Robert Charles "Bob" Mills' passing on Thursday, August 13, 2020 in the Veterans Unit of Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in St. Stephen, N.B. on April 5, 1927 to the late Fred and Amanda (Ingersoll) Mills. Bob was a veteran of the Korean War while proudly serving 21 years in the Royal Canadian Navy, retiring in 1968 to a hobby farm in Billtown, Kings Co. From there he moved to Kentville for the next 30 years. He spent many hours volunteering at the Flower Cart - New Minas, Meals on Wheels, and tending to the grounds of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church - Kentville. Bob is survived by his loving partner of many years, Mona Tzagarakis; stepchildren, Christine (Gus) MacIntyre, Paul Tzagarakis and Helen Tzagarakis (Bill McKenzie); two step granddaughters, Jennifer and Erin MacIntyre; niece, Sandra Craig; and nephew, Alan Craig. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marie (Burroughs) Mills; sister, Agnes Craig; and nephew, Robert Craig. The family would like to thank the Annapolis Valley Homecare and the doctors, nurses and staff of the Veteran's unit for their care, kindness and compassion given to Bob,as well as his stepson Paul who was his devoted caregiver for the past two and a half years. Bob will be greatly missed by all that knew him. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville on Wednesday, August 19th at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. (Halifax Chronicle-Herald 17 Aug 2020)
