Died: 15 Aug 2003, Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

DUNN, George R. - 63, passed away August 15, 2003, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Sheet Harbour, he was a son of the late Willis Hugh and Alma (Russell) Dunn. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy (Marine Electrician) from 1958 - retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Centennial Branch 160. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margaret Diane (Hudson); sons, Bill (Stephanie) Dunn, Lower Sackville; Donald (Tracy) Dunn, Jordan Falls; daughter, Bonnie (Daniel) Sawler, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Ashley, Matthew, Patrick, Derick, Benjamin, and Kathryn; brothers, Robert (Gail) Dunn, Sheet Harbour; Otis (Deanna) Dunn, Musquodoboit Harbour; sister, Debbie (Paul) Josey, Porter's Lake; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Jessie Marie in infancy. Cremation has taken place. Family flowers only. A memorial service will take place 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, in Steven's Road United Baptist Church, Rev. Robert Nickerson officiating. The family extends a prayer to all the nurses and staff on 5A of the VG Site, QEII. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. (The Halifax Chronicle Herald 18 Aug 2003)
