KENNEDY, George Albert (Al) - 80, Dartmouth, died June 29, 1995, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late James and Winnifred (Bezanson) Kennedy. He was an amateur boxer in the Halifax area and was flyweight champion while in the Navy. He was a veteran of the Second World War, employed as a stoker. After the war, he worked for the National Armament Depot. Surviving are his wife, the former May Almira Privett; children, James, at home; Bonita Mae (Mrs. Ray Douglas), Lower Sackville; Sharon Anne (Mrs. Gerald Salsman), Cole Harbour; Kim and Michael, who he raised; sister, Muriel May Shaw, Halifax; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She [sic] was predeceased by brothers, Clifford, Walter, Gerald; sisters, May, Pearl; great-granddaughter, Tammi. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, Dartmouth. Memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday in Port Wallace United Church, Waverley Road, Rev. Harvey Waddel officiating. Private family burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
