O'CONNOR, Francis Gordon (Gord) - affectionately known as Gord, peacefully passed away on July 3rd in Ottawa, Ontario. Originally from Capreol, Ontario, he served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1958 to 1994, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer, and was a proud member of the Stittsville Royal Canadian Legion. Loving husband and best friend to Sharon Ann (predeceased), he was the most amazing and loving dad to ten children and their spouses: Lorena & Ron; Grant & Jane; Gord & Vicki; Scott & Aaron; Darryl & Jess; Audra & Serge; Tanya; Tracey & Rick; Nadine & Paul; and Niki. He was a wonderful and caring "Grampy" to 21 grandchildren and one great-grandson: Carter and Paige; Hailey and Douglas; Sammy; Jesika, Mitchel, Kiley, and Kole; Cameron; Trenton and Darien; Devon, Daryl and Alana; Tyler and Kyle; Jarod and Ryan; Cassandra and Immanuel; and Bentley. Survived by his brother Gary and wife Carol, and fondly remembered by his friend and companion, Lynette. He will be remembered by all as a generous, kind-hearted soul who loved hockey, and most of all, his family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a further date. (Ottawa Citizen 07 Jul 2020)
