Born in Ottawa, ON, on January 15, 1943 he was the son of the late Isabel and Douglas Turnbull. Bill went on to serve 22 years with the Corps of Commissionaires. Bill was a gifted and meticulous woodworker and he also enjoyed cooking and being in the kitchen. He enjoyed his many friends and the great times he had at Bleachers Sports Bar. Besides his wife Jan, he is survived by his daughter Lynda Smith (Chris), his brother-in-law Rob Hamilton (Lynne), his grandchildren; Corey (Kieanne), Chylynn (Dave), Scot, Mark, Alexis (Dan) and Samantha, his many great-grandchildren along with his special nephew Matthew who affectionately called him “Puncle”.
