Died: 21 Apr 2003,  Burnaby, British Columbia

 

WARDELL, Robert Franklin (Frank) - born in Winnipeg, March 3, 1923. It is with great sadness that we announce Frank's passing on April 21, 2003 in Burnaby, B.C. He will be forever remembered by his loving wife of 57 years, Fran, children Dave (Colleen), Andrew (Vivian), Diane (Dave), sister Georgina, his dearly loved grandchildren Kristine (Paul), Heather (Coy), Samantha, Annika and Liam, great-grandchildren Taylor, Jaime and Cole. Many thanks to the nurses at RCH and St. Michael's Hospice for their kindness and compassion. A special thank you to Dr. G. Parhar. After a lengthy illness Dad is at rest. Memorial Service April 26, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Rd., North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Michael's Hospice or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. (Vancouver Sun 24 Apr 2003)

HMCS CHIPPAWA - Enlisted 12 Jun 1941.  Commenced active service 07 Aug 1941

HMCS ST LAURENT - Served in St Laurent 09 Jul 1942 - 22 Sep 1943 as an A/AB, AB and A/LS, RCNVR. Rated AB 07 Nov 1942 and rated A/LS 01 Aug 1943.  Frank served in St Laurent during the battle for Convoy ONS.154 between 18 Dec 1942 and 12 Jan 1943.

HMCS SKEENA - Served in Skeena 09 Mar 1944 - 27 Mar 1944 as a LS, RCNVR

HMCS KENOGAMI - Served in Kenogami - 22 Jun 1944 - 05 Jul 1945 as an A/LS and LS, RCNVR. Rated LS 01 Aug 1944

HMCS CHIPPAWA - Demobilized 29 Aug 1945
