SWINEMAR, Grant Andrew - 70, Lower Grant Road, Chester Basin, died Tuesday in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Gold River, he was a son of the late Clarence and Jessie (Hiltz) Swinemar. He was a leading cook with the RCN during the Second World War. He was a retired boiler maker and welder. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Everett Branch 88, Chester Basin. He is survived by his wife, the former Thelma Perry; four sons, Garnet, Purcell's Cove; Robert, Halifax; Marshall, Chester Basin; Sgt. Kirby, Comox, B.C.; two daughters, Cheryle (Mrs. Peter Kelly), Barrington; Debbie (Mrs. Barry Rafuse), Western Shore; two sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Jack Condon), Halifax; Edna Johnston, MacAdam, N.B.; 13 grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, Boyd, Marshall, Clyde; two sisters, Alice, Molly. The body is in Davis' Funeral Home, Chester, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, where a legion service will be 7:30 p.m. today. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in St. John's Anglican Church, Chester Basin, Rev. Carolyn Tomlin officiating. Burial will be in Western Shore Cemetery. Immediate family flowers only, donations to Veteran's Memorial Bursary Fund, Everett Branch 88, c/o Earl Zwicker, Chester Basin or Canadian Cancer Society.
