HURLBURT, Victor M. - 89, of Kemptville, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on February 27, 2013. Born December 17, 1923 he was a son of the late Maynard and Charlotte (Allen) Hurlburt. Victor was a member of the Kemptville United Baptist Church, Veteran of the Second World War, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 167 Carleton, past poppy chairman, past president of the Trappers Council and past president of the Sheep Club and Equestrian Committee, past president of the 4H Club, past president of the Port Maitland Home and School Committee and member of the R.C.N.V.R. He is survived by daughters, Charlene (John) Samms, Hebron; Virginia (John) Amero, Brighton, Digby Co.; Robert (Phyllis), Pembooke; Bernard (Ruth), Port Maitland; Victor (Rochelle), Port Maitland; Brian (Denis), Annapolis Royal; brothers Avery (Gloria) Carleton; Robert (Sylvia), Oshawa ON; sisters, Pearl (Gerald) Hamilton, Carleton; Marion Manser, Oshawa ON; Wilma (Mac) Richardson, Carleton; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his loving wife Enid (Outhouse); and brother Doran. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium in Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m with a Royal Canadian Legion Carleton Branch 167 Service at 7:30 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held Sunday, March 3 at 2 p.m from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Warner officiating. Family flowers only, please. Donations in Victor’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia, or the Kemptville United Baptist Church.
