BANFIELD, Frederick Gordon - 79, East Chezzetcook, died August 26, 2004, at home. He was born in Halifax, but spent his early years in Bay L'Argent, NL. He served in the Navy and as a civilian with DND for 32 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 161. He was an active member of minor softball and hockey, coaching for many years. He was president of the New Horizon Seniors Club for over four years. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Elizabeth; twin sisters, Jean and Marie. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Florence (Conrad); children, Kenneth (Gail), Stella (Mike) Hinch, both of Dartmouth; Ernest (Joanne), Victoria, B.C.; Barry (Heather), Conrad Settlement; Sherry-Lynn (Stephen) Wade, Head Chezzetcook; James (Darlene), Hammonds Plains; Rosemary (Shawn) Delaney, Eastern Passage; sister, Geraldine (Corbisher); several nieces and nephews; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his three cats. The body is resting in Rowlings Funeral Home, Musquodoboit Harbour, where visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, August 30, with a Legion Branch 161 service at 7 p.m. Funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31, in Rowlings Funeral Home. Cremation to follow. Reception from 12-2 p.m. in Royal Canadian Legion Branch 161, Gatesbrook. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Poppy Fund, Branch 161, P.O.
