In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
GIBBONS, John Kenneth (Gibby) - Passed peacefully away following a lengthy illness at the Health Sciences Centre. He was predeceased by his parents Augustus and Winnifred (nee Hall) and his sister Alice. Leaving to mourn his loss with sadness are his siblings Dorothy, Mary Ellwood (Jim), Joe (Cheryl Tulk) and Rita; his nieces and nephews Kathleen Ellwood, Michael Hunt, Neil Ellwood (Leanne), David Ellwood (Caitlin) and Megan Hunt (Chad, great nephews Jayden, Ryder, Austin and Dominic Lowther). He will be missed by his Aunt Dot, Aunt Anita, Uncle Gerald and his many cousins with whom he maintained a special relationship. He also leaves to mourn his good friends Lloyd (Roxanne) Pottle, John (Alice) Chapman and Scott (Judy) Winsor. He had a special long-term care resident friend Theresa who will also mourn his loss. John was a proud member of the Canadian Navy having served his country for 30 years, a Persian Gulf veteran and a proud volunteer firefighter in Nine Mile River, NS. Upon his retirement he was a loyal employee of the Commissionaire Corps of NL. Special thanks to the staff of E2A and N2A at the Waterford Hospital for your wonderful care and to the staff of 4SW at Pleasant View Towers for your outstanding care to John over the last year. A celebration of life will follow at a late date. Fair winds and following seas…Stop the clock, declutch!
