BROUGHTON, Douglas Kenneth - Peacefully on February 29th, 2020 at the age of 72. Predeceased by Donna (Gaye), his wife of 49 years and son Michael, Mother Doris, and Aunt Joan. Survived by daughter Tammy, her husband Sean Cochrane, and three wonderful grandchildren; Charlie (Anolez), Gillian (Kevin), and Stephen. Also survived by his Father Marvin Broughton and Uncle Claude Broughton, Brother-in-law R. Douglas Clifton (Judy), nephews Scott (Jeannine) and Jeffery (Jane), one great nephew and 3 great nieces as well as cousins Bob (Diana) and Danny (Cathy) Bujas and Tara. Also predeceased by step mother Bernice and special family friend Lillian. Doug served 32 years in the Canadian Navy where he made many lifelong friends and, following retirement devoted 17 years to the Kanata Food Cupboard where he enjoyed the friendship and dedication of many volunteers. Thank you to the Doctors and Nurses of the Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre. Cremation has taken place, inurnment will be in Hamilton at a later date. Memorial donations to the Humane Society and Kanata Food Cupboard are appreciated. Funeral arrangements in the care of Kelly Funeral Home – Kanata Chapel.
