After getting out of the Navy, Alan worked for Nordair where he met and married a stewardess. When the company eventually dissolved they both took early retirement and moved to Florida where he started a swimming pool business. Shortly afterwards he was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 1999 at 51 yrs.
Ships served in: HMCS KOOTENAY - Alan was serving in Kootenay as an AB.SN at the time of the explosion
