Born: 15 Dec 1934          Died: 16 Jan 2013

 

DILL, Ronald Stewart - We regretfully announce that Ron has set sail on his last cruise. Predeceased by his youngest son Ronnie; Pat (mother of his children); his sisters Lorraine, Shirley and Ruthie, and granddaughter Jessica. He is survived by his sister Joyce; sons Ralph (Colleen), Bruce; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Ron also leaves his loving wife of 26 years Donna-Mae, and her children Terry (Roberta), Darlene (Don), Rob (Julie); 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Born in Winnipeg, Ron was the youngest of 5 children. His career was in the Navy where as a Bosun, he sailed the seas for 22 years. The second half of his career saw him at Dockyard for 23 years as a rigger making many lasting friendships before retiring in March, 1997. Ron was a member of the FOE No. 12, Legion 172, CPO Mess & Assn. He also enjoyed membership with Legions 172 & 192, Seniors Travel Groups, and the Gorge Vale Golf Club. Endeared and forever remembered by his close friends and family as a fun-loving, kind and gentle man that enjoyed life and his cherished dog Cody. "When the sun sets to meet the sea Do not cry when you think of me Warm in the love of family On the gentle waves of eternity" Cremation, no service, by Ron's request.
