KEEPING, Aubrey Maxwell - age 77 of Mill Cove, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2019 in the Centennial Building, QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in North Sydney, he was a son of the late Victor and Beatrice (Bungay) Keeping. Survived by his son, Christopher (Lynn Redmond), Halifax; brothers, Gerald (Jane), Sydney River; Stan (Ann Gibbs), Halifax; sister, Barbara (Norman) Sicard, Burlington, Ont. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Jean (Harnish) and brother, Donald. Aubrey was devoted to his wife Jean, who he met while posted in Mill Cove where he proudly served a 25- year career in the Canadian Navy before retiring as a Commissionaire. He was a dedicated member of St. Marks Anglican Church and a friendly face in the community where he and his dog, Babe, attended many card games and tournaments. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, December 11th in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 12th in St. Marks Anglican Church, Mill Cove, The Rev. Laurie Omstead officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Fox Point. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Marks Anglican Church, Mill Cove.
