Died: 2019, Ottawa, Ontario

 

WALLACE, Howard Carew (Howie) - died peacefully at the Perley & Rideau Veterans' Health Centre in Ottawa, attended by his children and grandchildren. Predeceased by extraordinary wife, former Sub-Lieutenant, Caroline Mary French of St. John's, NL; and leaving behind children Marita, Burnaby, BC; Duncan (Tina), Graham, North Carolina; Stephen (Val), Toronto, ON; Christopher (Melissa) Greely, ON; Catherine (Rob), Ottawa, ON; Caroline (Ron), Ottawa, ON; Barnaby (Norma), Atlanta, Georgia; Matthew (Lily), Ottawa, ON; and Cecily, Ottawa, ON. Plus, sixteen grandchildren: Jonathan, Alannah, Eli, Marie-Pierre, Corrie, Charlotte, Howard, Natalie, Clara, Gavin, Carrie, Jessie, Mackenzie, Kayla, Jasmine and Allegra; and seven great-grandchildren, Tessa, Noah, Eleonora, Connor, Seth, Ruby and Amelia. Also predeceased by older sisters Margot, Surrey, BC, and Isabel and Rosemary, Halifax, NS. A public affairs professional, golfer, photographer, and long-time friend of Bill W, Howie will be remembered fondly for his compassion, thirst for knowledge and undying charm. At his wish, cremation and interment later will be limited to available family and friends. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kelly Funeral Home Walkley Chapel.
