HALLIDAY, Robert Graham (Bob) - passed away on October 24, 2019, after a long fight with pulmonary fibrosis. He will be dearly missed by family and many friends who appreciated his loyalty, humour and attention to detail. Born in 1940, in Winnipeg, MB, Bob graduated from Kelvin High School and went on to serve in the Royal Canadian Navy. Bob graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1968 with a degree in business, but true to his nature he proceeded to be an engineer for most of his career. He worked for Ford, Coast-to-Coast Hardware, Household Merchandise, and the Material Handling Group among others before semi-retiring and working as a consultant. One of his favourite things was to take a business call while fishing, but have to hang up because he had fish on the line. Bob married Penny Kains in 1966. Bob and Penny were a great team and a fun couple. They had two children, Graham and Linda. The family enjoyed weekends on the St. Croix River and many trips to the cabin on Lake of the Woods where they spent time with his brother Bruce and his family and generations of good friends. Bob enjoyed many skiing, hunting and fishing trips with lifelong buddies and the occasional rescue missions for stranded vehicles or runaway boats. He was patriotic to both of his countries and always made an effort to observe Veterans /Remembrance Day each year. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy (Graham). He is survived by his brother Bruce (Luella); wife Penny; children, Graham (Andrea) and Linda (Bjorn) Snowberg; grandchildren, Malcolm Snowberg and Sammy Halliday; brother-in-law Peter (Anne-Marie) Kains; nephews and nieces, Sean (Catherine) Halliday, Kim Halliday, Christina (Jay) Harris, Alexandra (Tony) Davey, David Frampton; and many friends who were like family. A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at White's Funeral Home in Burnsville, MN. Friends are invited to gather from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. (Winnipeg Free Press 16 Nov 2019)
