For Posterity's Sake A Royal Canadian Navy Historical Project
In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
SHIRTLIFF, Trevor Harold - It is with profound sadness that the family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of our brother Trevor, on Friday, November 8, 2019. Born the fifth child of Harold and Maisie Shirtliff, he is survived by his seven siblings; Daryl, Nancy, Penny, Tanis, Mary Anne, Collin, and Nadene. Trevor grew up on the family farm in Starbuck, Manitoba and attended school in Elie, Manitoba. After high school he obtained his pilots license, studied mechanical drafting at RRCC, and joined the navy where he served on the HMCS Huron as a radar technician. The following years saw Trevor begin a career in marketing and sales, he started his own photography business, and later a printing business. In 2008, he launched Market Zone Productions, which grew to become a successful publisher of magazines and periodicals. Trevor was very devout in his Christian faith and very active in his church community. He was very involved with the youth groups in his church and had a soft heart for young people with challenges in their lives. He organized many excursions for the young people, usually centered on getting out in nature. Trevor suffered from cardiac health issues and diabetes for the last 12 years. He was working at being more active, spending his free hours walking, biking, roller-blading, and cross-country skiing. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours on horseback, finding great solace in nature. The family will gather informally on Sunday, November 17, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Bridges Golf Course, and invite their extended family and neighbours to join them, to share memories and reminisce.
