Died: 26 Jul 2008, Edmonton, AB

 

CUMMINGS, Walter Sidney - of Edmonton, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the age of 82. Walter is survived by his loving wife Eleanor; four children Wally (Jeanie) of Athabasca, Marvin (Deb) of Medicine Hat, Bill (Tracy) of Edmonton and Lee (JoAnne) of Calgary; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren (..... obituary incomplete) (Edmonton Journal 28 Jul 2008)

 

Walter was born in Chigwell, AB and is buried in the Fairview Cemetery, Lacombe, AB.  Walter was serving in HMCS Thorlock when she, along with HMCS Victoriaville, accepted the surrender of U-190 off Newfoundland on 14 May 1945.
