WILLIAMS, Vinal Keith - 92, Lockeport, passed away peacefully in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 with loved ones by his side. Born in Lockeport he was the eldest child of the late Hastings and Jessie (Benham) Williams. Vinal was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a Naval Veteran of World War II and a Merchant Seaman. In his earlier years he was employed by Imperial Oil and travelled all over the world. Vinal was an avid sports fisherman and hunter and loved everything about nature. He was a great “spinner of yarns”. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, the former M. Elizabeth “Libby” West; sons, Derek (Deborah Lunn-Williams); David; daughter, Diana (Joe) Rossiter; sisters, Valda Tanner, Bridgewater and Linda Simpson, P.E.I; granddaughters, Lisa and Andrea; great granddaughters, Emily, Jessica, Jasmine and Lily; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Alonzo, Wendell, Maynard, Neil, Bruce, Brian, Merrill; sisters, Jessie and June. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport. A memorial service was held on Friday, January 11 from Holy Cross Anglican Church, Lockeport with Reverend Norma Mitchell officiating. Interment was in Osborne Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Anglican Church or charity of choice.
