Died: 01 Oct 2019, Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

DUMAS, Joseph Camille Simeon (Sim) - Age 81 of Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Cochrane, Ont., he was a son of the late Joseph Simeon Albert Dumas and Marie Olive Lamothe. Sim served for over 25 years in the Royal Canadian Navy and NATO as a Petty Officer. He was awarded the Special Service Medal, Canadian Peacekeeping Medal, Silver Jubilee Medal, Canadian Decoration Medal, Canadian Decoration Medal II. He was also a devoted Knight of Columbus. After retirement Sim enjoyed his Cape Breton retreat and spending time with those he loved. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of over 58 years, Helen Dumas (Carroll); loving children, Albert, Edward (Lynn), Diana; treasured granddaughters, Samantha, Brittany, Angela; sisters, Theresa Sylvain (Rock), Angele Bernier (Marcel); brothers, Yvon Dumas, Louis Dumas Lamothe, Phillippe Dumas (Brenda), Gaitan Dumas, Yvon Belley Jr.; many nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by sisters, Anita, Adrienne, Juliette, Georgette; brothers, Gaston, Donald. A private funeral will be held at a later date. For those wishing, donations to Diabetes Canada or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
