Died: 29 Mar 2019, Oshawa, Ontario

 

KORKUSH, Alexander Joseph (Alex) -- Retired Royal Canadian Navy, Stoker 1st Class, WWII Veteran, Retiree General Motors of Canada 30+ years-service -- Peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday March 29, 2019 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 94th year. Alex, beloved husband for 61 years of Pauline Korkush (nee Konopacki). Much loved dad of William, Mariann (Doug Clarke), Michael (Terri), Johnny (Donna Texeria), and James (Julia Chambers). Proud GiGi of Christopher, Jonathon (Nathan), Sarah (Joe), Rebecca (John), Montana (Dan), and 'Gig' to great grandson Max. Loving step GiGi to his step grandchildren. Dear brother of Mary Korkush and Victoria Masiewich. Alex will be deeply missed and remembered with love by all of his family and many dear friends. Family and friends may visit at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Tuesday April 2nd from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral service in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday April 3rd at 12 noon. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Whitby.
