CLARKE, Albert (Pal) - of Halifax, died Monday in the Victoria General Hospital. Born in Inverness, he was a son of the late James and Moriah Clarke. A veteran of the Second World War, he served with the Royal Canadian Navy for 21 years, retiring in 1946. He was a prominent boxer and athlete in the Halifax area. He is survived by his wife, the former Blanche M. Tanner; a daughter, Marilyn (Mrs. Marcel Gince), Montreal; two sons, Frederick, Port Herbert, and Albert, Halifax; a brother, James, Glace Bay; a sister, Mary (Mrs. John Spearing), Glace Bay; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, James, and a sister, Elizabeth. The body is in J. Albert Walker Memorial Chapel where funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., Rev. Cedric Pettigrew officiating. Burial will be in Fort Massey Cemetery, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Royal Canadian Legion, Vimy Branch.
