Harold Linburn Crouse

Died: 1984

 

CROUSE, Harold Linburn - 77, of Bridgewater, died Thursday in Dawson Memorial Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Crouse's Settlement, he was a son of the late George and Louisa (Tanner) Crouse. He served with the RCNVR during the Second World War, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #24, Bridgewater, and was a former employee of National Sea Products. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Strothard; three sons, Linburn, Charleston; David, Chester; Tony, Bridgewater; a daughter Mrs Donna Gayton, Lantz; two brothers, Malcolm and Ulim, both of Upper Lahave; two sisters, Mrs Effie Randall, Lunenburg; Doris, Crouse's Settlement; eleven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, William, George and Napean; two sisters, Mabel and Etta. The body is in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral will be 2 pm Sunday in Bridgewater United Baptist Church, Rev Allan Griffin officiating, with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bridgewater United Baptist Church, or to any charity. (Halifax Chronicle-Herald Saturday 13 Oct 1984) 

 

Note: The Nova Scotia 1911 and 1921 census puts Harold's year of birth as 1906/07.  His birth registration and marriage record list his year of birth as 1906.  His headstone lists a year of birth as 1903.
