BARBER, William C. (Bill) - WWII Veteran Canadian Navy; RCAF, British High Commission, Canadian Corps of Commissionaires Peacefully in hospital with his family at his side Thursday, April 7, 2005 William Clinton Barber aged 85. Beloved husband (59 years) of Marion Emily Belsher. Loving father of Dianne (Pat Kratchmer), Boyd (late Eleanor Amm), Harry (Betty Huson), Sharon (David Asselin) and Debra (John Reinburg). Cherished grandfather of Jeff (Cheryl Pender), Christopher, Elizabeth and Erin; Steven and Scott; Carrie and Katie Asselin; Patrick Kratchmer; Tracey and Tom Bigelow and Kristoffer, Kevin and Chelsey Reinburg. Treasured great-granddad of Devon and Brendan. Bill will be missed dearly by his sisters Iva (late Hilson Hodgins), Amy (late John Griffiths), Suzie (late Murray Russell), Merle (Weldon Hobbs), Isabel (Bud Elliott) and Lois (Bill Callaghan). Predeceased by 5 brothers Gordon, Art, John, George and Glen. Remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends and good neighbours. Bill had a very special place in all our hearts. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Sunday, April 10, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, April 11th from 9:30 a.m. until service in the Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society.

 

Bill served in the Canadian Navy during WW2 and enlisted in the RCAF after WW2.
